Farm House Smiling Gecko

Located in Kampong Chhnang Province, 80 km north of Phnom Penh, about twenty kilometers beyond the ancient capital of Oudong, Farm House Smiling Gecko boasts a dream location in the heart of the village of Khum Tbaeng Khpos, surrounded by rice fields and the lush hills of the region. It’s a small piece of paradise where you can recharge after several days filled with cultural visits.

By staying at the Smiling Gecko farm, you’ll support the project run by the Smiling Gecko NGO, which allocates funds to support initiatives aimed at helping rural communities in Cambodia.

The Bungalows

The Smiling Gecko farm has 34 spacious rooms spread across 17 traditional Cambodian-style bungalows built on stilts. These wooden huts all feature a terrace to enjoy the authentic views of the Khmer countryside.

This charming, rustic setting is paired with modern amenities. Each double room comes with a double bed, mosquito net, and a fan, while the shower and toilet are air-conditioned.

Close to the NGO

Staying at the farm allows you to directly connect with the initiatives undertaken by Smiling Gecko and the other NGOs it supports. You’ll get a sense of the structure of such programs designed to assist those in need. You’ll also have the chance to visit the association’s school located in the village and contribute to this ongoing work.

Wonderful hikes

With a guide, you can explore the surrounding natural hills of Kampong Chhnang Province. Along the way, you’ll see pagodas and Buddhist monasteries associated with the commune and even have the opportunity to be blessed by monks dressed in orange robes.

Feel free to visit early in the morning to take part in these prayers at dawn and enjoy the breathtaking sunrise from the hills.
