Are you traveling to Cambodia and looking for vegan spots during your stay in the capital? We've prepared a list of the best vegetarian, vegan, and "veggie-friendly" restaurants that you absolutely must try in Phnom Penh. On the menu: Khmer, Western, Indian dishes, and even gourmet plant-based cuisine!

Sacred Lotus

Sacred Lotus is both a guesthouse, a café restaurant, a coworking space, and a yoga and meditation studio. The café restaurant only serves vegan dishes. You can discover excellent plant-based cuisine prepared in both Cambodian and Western styles!

The Vegetarian

Do you want to eat vegetarian and local? Head to The Vegetarian, a restaurant offering Khmer vegetarian cuisine with many "fake meat" options at affordable prices. You will love its lush setting as the restaurant is located in a tropical garden where you can enjoy your meals in the shade of trees.

Evergreen Vegetarian House

Among other Khmer restaurants specializing in vegetarian and vegan cuisine, don't miss Evergreen Vegetarian House. Located near Norton University and offering dishes at mini prices (around $2), this restaurant is particularly popular with locals and students.

Vibe Cafe

Vibe Cafe is a 100% plant-based café. With the philosophy of "from the earth to the table," this café restaurant emphasizes serving fresh, organic products with a creative touch. But above all, all the ingredients come from ethical sources. For your information, the café donates 10% of its profits to The Good Vibe Foundation, which aims to provide healthy meals to 10,000 schoolchildren in Cambodia.

Backyard Cafe

Looking for a place to eat fresh and healthy food? Head to the Backyard Cafe, a flexitarian café considered the "sister café" of Vibe Cafe. They offer delicious vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes: breakfast, poke bowls, sandwiches, soups, fruit salads, detox juices, gluten-free and sugar-free desserts… Be warned, everything looks tempting! Like Vibe Cafe, Backyard Cafe donates 10% of its profits to The Good Vibe Foundation.

Eleven One Kitchen

Eleven One Kitchen is a veggie-friendly restaurant serving local cuisine. The menu includes a traditional Khmer breakfast, appetizers, salads, main dishes, soups, and desserts, with vegan options available. Apart from its food, the restaurant is known for its environmental initiatives, being the first of its kind in the Cambodian capital. It is committed to fighting waste and offers a service that is 99% plastic-free!

Bong Bonlai

Bong Bonlai offers vegan cuisine combining Mediterranean and Asian flavors. It serves only vegetarian and vegan options in an intimate and relaxing setting. Bong Bonlai is especially popular on Sunday afternoons for its iconic brunch at a mini price, with dishes sold at $1 per plate!

ARTillery

ARTillery is both a creative café restaurant and an art gallery. On the menu, you’ll find healthy dishes made with "superfoods," local products, organic ingredients, vegetarian and vegan recipes… As for the gallery, the shop hosts community art projects, cooking classes, wellness events, and detox programs.

Element vegetarian

Element Vegetarian is Phnom Penh's first fine-dining restaurant specializing in vegan and vegetarian cuisine. It is considered one of the best vegan restaurants in the city. The owner, a Franco-Cambodian, takes great pride in serving creative, beautifully presented dishes that align with current concerns. The products used are 98% local.

Farm to Table

Farm to Table is a restaurant promoting healthy eating and organic farming. The dishes are prepared with local ingredients, most of which come from their own garden. Set in a bucolic setting, the place resembles a mini-farm in the heart of the city. While not strictly a vegetarian restaurant, the chef prepares equally delicious vegan and vegetarian alternatives.

Masala Dosa Kitchen

Masala Dosa Kitchen is a restaurant offering some of the best Indian vegan and vegetarian cuisine in Cambodia. Located by the river and offering very affordable dishes, it is popular with both locals and visitors. The restaurant serves different vegetarian lunches every day from Tuesday to Friday.
