Siem Reap Night Market

The Angkor Night Market is located near Sivatha Boulevard, in the heart of Siem Reap. This place comes alive at night with food, drinks, and performances, creating a trendy and vibrant atmosphere. Walking through the market at night provides a great opportunity to experience local Cambodian life.

History

Dedicated to preserving traditional Khmer craftsmanship and improving the livelihoods of the Khmer people, the Angkor Night Market was established in 2007. It is considered the first night market in Cambodia.

Discovering the Angkor Night Market

The Angkor Night Market is divided into two sections, Market A and Market B, accessible through two entrances. The market boasts over 240 shops. The first entrance is dominated by the Island Bar, while the second is marked by the Brick House. Both the Island Bar and the Brick House are the most famous and prominent establishments in the market.

What to do?

The Angkor Night Market is specifically designed to attract tourists, so most of the stands are shops or souvenir stalls. It’s one of the best places in Cambodia to buy souvenirs or Cambodian products. You’ll find stalls selling handcrafted goods, silks, and clothing.

Some stands, such as Spa Baray and Dr Fish, offer unique services that provide an unforgettable experience. They offer foot or body massages, which are considered one of the highlights of the market. These massages are based on traditional Khmer practices, using local herbs and white wine paste to relax tired muscles. Additionally, you can try ichthyotherapy, or fish therapy, where small fish nibble on the dead skin cells from your feet.

In addition to the shops, the Angkor Night Market has many restaurants and bars, especially in section A, such as the Island Bar, which typically has a relaxed and friendly vibe. While visiting, you can enjoy your meal while watching live music performances by local or international artists. You’ll also find local and Western delicacies, unusual snacks, beers, cocktails, and a variety of wines at attractive prices.

The market also houses a small cinema called Cineplex, where two different movies showcasing Cambodia's history are shown every evening.

How to get there?

The night market is located near Pub Street, the Old Market, or the Central Market. It is only a five-minute walk from these popular areas.

Opening hours and prices

The market is open every evening from 5:00 PM to midnight.
