History

Specifically dedicated to preserving traditional Khmer craftsmanship and improving the livelihoods of Khmer communities, Angkor Night Market was established in 2007. It is considered Cambodia's first night market.

Exploring Angkor Night Market

With two distinct entrances, Angkor Night Market is divided into two sections: Market A and Market B. The night market is estimated to house more than 240 shops. The first entrance is dominated by Island Bar, while the second is marked by Brick House. These two establishments remain the most prominent and celebrated venues in the market.

What to Do?

Angkor Night Market is specially designed to attract visitors. As a result, most of the stalls feature souvenir shops and merchandise displays. It's one of the best places in Cambodia to purchase souvenirs and Cambodian products. You'll find stalls selling handicrafts, silks and clothing.

Certain market stalls like Spa Baray and Dr Fish offer unique services that deliver unforgettable experiences. They provide foot and body massages. Considered a highlight of the market, this service is an unmissable experience after browsing the shops. It's a traditional practice rooted in Khmer massage techniques, using local herbs and white wine compounds to soothe tired muscles. You can also try fish therapy, or ichthyotherapy. During this massage, small fish nibble away dead skin cells from your feet.

Beyond the shops, Angkor Night Market boasts numerous restaurants and bars, particularly in section A like Island Bar, most offering relaxed and welcoming atmospheres. During your visit, you can enjoy your meal while taking in live music performances by local and international artists. You'll also find local and Western delicacies, unusual snacks, beers, cocktails and a variety of wines at attractive prices.

The market also houses a small cinema called Cineplex. Each evening, two different films are screened showcasing Cambodia's rich history.

Angkor Night Market is located near Pub Street, the Old Market, or Central Market. You can reach it in just five minutes on foot.
