Cruise on the Jahan

How about a romantic cruise along the tranquil waters of the Mekong and Tonlé Sap Rivers? Step aboard The Jahan, often considered the smaller sibling of the Jayavarman, and experience a unique, vibrant journey through Cambodia. Departing from Siem Reap or Phnom Penh, you'll be welcomed by a highly attentive crew, elegantly dressed in traditional hotel uniforms, instantly immersing you in the refined atmosphere of this luxurious cruise.

A range of itineraries

Aboard the Jahan, you can choose from a wide variety of cruises—whether you wish to explore the Tonlé Sap, the Mekong, or both of these legendary Southeast Asian rivers. The cruise programs span from 4 to 8 days, with departures from either Siem Reap or Phnom Penh, depending on your preferred route.

A rich journey through Cambodia

Depending on your itinerary, your voyage may take you along the Mekong, the Tonlé Sap, or both. Guided by experts who know the region's history inside out, you’ll enjoy a wide array of immersive shore excursions. Here is a glimpse of what awaits you :

Nokor Bachey

Sailing down the Mekong past Phnom Penh, you'll arrive at the charming ancient town of Kampong Cham, where you’ll explore Nokor Bachey, a cultural, historical, and spiritual site located just north of the city. This temple, dedicated to Vishnu, one of the principal deities of Hinduism’s Trimurti, offers a deep connection to Cambodia’s rich religious heritage.

The bamboo bridge

Back in the heart of Kampong Cham, you’ll have the chance to cross the remarkable bamboo bridge connecting the town to Koh Paen Island, visible from the Mekong. This unique piece of ephemeral architecture is dismantled each May before the monsoon and rebuilt in January. Once across, you’ll visit the island’s serene pagoda.

Phnom Hanchey

Continuing 20 kilometers north along the Mekong, you’ll stop at the hilltop village of Phnom Hanchey. After climbing a scenic stairway, you’ll reach the summit, where a large pagoda awaits—often animated by playful gibbons. From here, enjoy breathtaking views over the river. Your guide will delve into Cambodian Buddhism, and you may even witness or receive a monk’s blessing.

Pottery villages of Kampong Chhnang

Sailing now on the Tonlé Sap, which flows from Siem Reap or Battambang to Phnom Penh, you'll stop near the capital in the province of Kampong Chhnang. Here, you’ll visit Andong Russey, a village renowned for its generations-old pottery craftsmanship. It’s the perfect opportunity to pick up a few authentic souvenirs.

Floating villages on the Tonlé Sap

This is without doubt one of the most eye-opening experiences of your Cambodian journey. If the waters are high enough, you’ll see the towering stilt houses of the floating villages fully immersed. The Jahan will take you for a close encounter with these communities on water, allowing for an authentic exchange and a deeper understanding of their daily lives.

Life aboard the Jahan

Between these unforgettable excursions, you’ll spend idyllic hours cruising Cambodia’s majestic rivers. The Jahan itself is a vessel of comfort and charm, offering spacious suites equipped with a double bed, a sofa, large panoramic windows, and a private bathroom. On the upper deck, enjoy the pool or dine in the elegant restaurant, where you’ll be served a buffet breakfast and delicious traditional Khmer meals for lunch and dinner. A voyage of both relaxation and discovery.
