The Sam Veasna Center - Guide Cambodia - Seripheap

The Sam Veasna Center

Since 2006, this organization has been offering excursions to major ecological reserves across Cambodia. From the plains of the north, east, and south to the vast Tonle Sap Lake and the surrounding areas of Siem Reap, all these destinations are part of the center’s program. The Sam Veasna Center provides expert guides specializing in birds and local wildlife. All of them are Khmer, most from the new generation, and deeply passionate about Cambodia’s natural heritage. They work tirelessly for its conservation, conducting on-the-ground efforts in these reserves, carrying out site studies, investigating threats to species, and collaborating with international organizations such as the Wildlife Conservation Society to develop tailored solutions.

Excursions from 1 to 21 Days

The Sam Veasna Center offers a variety of tours to meet different interests. From the phenomenal biodiversity of Tonle Sap Lake—the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia—to critically endangered animals, and jungle habitats that shelter rare birds, monkeys, and elephants, each site visit offers a deeper understanding of Cambodia’s environmental challenges. These are true ecotourism experiences in wonderfully scenic settings. You’ll navigate through floating villages, weave along the ochre-colored trails typical of Cambodia’s rural heartland, and meet local minority communities eager to share their culture and traditions while discussing their surrounding environment and the vibrant life it sustains.
