Obtaining an E-Visa to travel to Cambodia

For over 4 years, the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has authorized the use of electronic visas. This practice, now common in much of the world, makes the process of obtaining a visa for Cambodia simpler and faster compared to the traditional method. All you need to do is fill out a simple online form from anywhere, and you're good to go. You will then receive your electronic visa directly in your email inbox.

This document allows you to enter Cambodia once for a duration of 30 days. You will have 90 days to use this single entry, after which the electronic visa will expire, and no refund will be provided. Not all entry points in Cambodia accept this type of visa. The following entry points accept e-visas: the international airports in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville, as well as border checkpoints at Bavet (Vietnam), Poipet and Cham Yeam (Thailand), and Tropaeng Kreal (Laos).

A form to fill out

To submit your application, visit the website that issues electronic visas. Start by filling in the section with your personal information. Be careful with any typos, as all the details must exactly match those on your passport. Note that mandatory fields are marked with a red asterisk. For example, the secondary email is optional. You will also need to upload PDF copies of your passport and color ID photo.

Next, enter your passport details, followed by your arrival information: the date and the airport or border checkpoint depending on your means of transport.

A secure payment

You can then proceed to payment by credit card. The e-visa costs 36 US dollars, which is just over 30 euros.

After payment, you will receive a case number sent directly to your email address. Later the same day or the next day*, depending on when you apply, you will receive two additional emails with your downloadable and printable e-visa and your invoice. Print it, and you're now ready to enter Cambodia.

*If you do not receive the other emails, go to the "Verify and Change" section on the website. After entering your case number and email address, you can contact customer service or simply track the status of your e-visa.
