Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has authorized, for over 4 years now, the use of electronic visas. A practice that is increasingly common in much of the world today. Compared to the traditional process, it makes the procedures simpler and faster to obtain this essential document for Cambodge. Simply fill out an online form from anywhere, and you're done. You will then receive your electronic visa directly in your email inbox.
The document will allow you to enter Cambodge for a duration of 30 days. You will have 90 days to use this single entry, after which the electronic visa will expire and will not be refunded. Not all entry points to Cambodge accept this type of visa. Here are those that do: the international airports of Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville, as well as the border crossings at Bavet (Vietnam), Poipet and Cham Yeam (Thailand), and finally Tropaeng Kreal (Laos).
A form to fill out
To submit your application, visit the website that issues electronic visas. First, fill in the section concerning your personal information. Watch out for typos, all this information must match exactly what is written on your passport. Note that mandatory fields are followed by a red asterisk. For example, the secondary email is optional. Also insert PDF files of your passport photocopies and color identity photos.
Then enter your passport information, followed by your arrival details: the date, and the airport or border crossing depending on your means of transport.
Secure payment
You can then proceed with payment by credit card. The e-visa will cost you 36 US dollars, or just over 30 euros.
You will receive just after payment, a file number sent directly to your email address. Within the day or the next day*, depending on what time you process the request, you will receive two new emails with your e-visa to download and print, and your invoice. Print it out, and you now have your entry to Cambodge.
*If you do not receive the other emails, go to the "Check and modify" section of the website. After entering your file number and email address, you can contact the service or simply track the status of your e-visa.
