Street Art Takes Over Phnom Penh!
Through murals, performances and urban routes, Cambodia Urban Art invites you to explore Phnom Penh differently, at the rhythm of artists and the spray-painted walls of Cambodia's capital.
Cambodia Urban Art (CUA) returns for its 4th edition starting December 14th. This launch evening will blend scenic, musical, theatrical and artistic moments—all united under the same banner: the underground. Graffiti takes center stage. The event kicks off with a soirée at the Mansion in Phnom Penh. The CUA organizers are banking on continuity. 80% of the spray-painted street art works presented last year will be back for this 4th edition. The 10 artists showcasing their murals will begin creating in public across all neighborhoods of Phnom Penh starting next Monday. 3,000 people are expected throughout this street art week.
Connected Festival
The CUA organizers have partnered with developer Grasshopper Adventures, marking the highlight of this edition. Their app will add an interactive map to their database, pinpointing every graffiti spot created by CUA artists. The city map highlighting these locations will connect with a bike rental company so you can tour them on two wheels. The app is free during the festival week, but organizers can't guarantee it will remain so afterward.
Tuk-Tuk Tour
Those interested can experience the artworks aboard a tuk-tuk during a grand tour organized on Sunday, December 16th to close out the festival. These vehicles will cruise through Phnom Penh's streets and stop for roughly fifteen minutes at each spot painted by the artists.
