Bus Operators
Be aware that several bus companies operate in Cambodge.
The Sorya and Capitol operators are the most budget-friendly, though they tend to be slower as they make frequent stops to pick up Cambodians along the route to maximize occupancy and revenue.
Two more upscale bus companies are also available. Mekong Express and Giant Ibis offer superior onboard services and significantly faster journeys—typically around 2 hours quicker—though at a correspondingly higher price.
Expect to pay between $6 and $7 for a Phnom Penh to Siem Reap ticket with Capitol or Sorya, compared to $13 to $15 with Mekong Express or Giant Ibis.
